Windows Live Wave 3 with new GUI

With the release of Windows Live Wave 3 Beta suite of applications, Microsoft introduced not only optimizations, new facial appearance and capabilities, but also a design revamp the UI of Windows Live products. The revamping of the visual style ranges from the graphical user interface of the client and Cloud services, to the icons representing the various components of Windows Live Wave 3. As you can see from the images included in this article, the new designs associated with Windows Live Wave 3 deliver a unified style across both the Windows client and the Cloud components.

As scheduled, with ending in early 2009, Microsoft will introduce Windows Live Wave 3 incrementally around the world.  The end purpose for Microsoft is to have all Windows Live components, and the digital lives of end users synchronized. At the same time, Microsoft is attempting to increase the social networking capabilities of Windows Live Wave 3 applications and services by connecting users with a range of third-parties.

Microsoft Windows turns 25 today!

Whether you’re a Windows fanboy or a head-shaking Gatesophobe, it’s time to put those differences aside and wish the Big M’s finest a happy 25th!. Today marks a mammoth quarter century for Microsoft’s graphical operating system, introduced on November 10 1983 by Bill Gates.

It was originally sold for $100 per copy, and Gates invited the press to its unveiling by sending out squeezes and chamois leathers to reporters, inviting them to join the company at the Plaza Hotel in New York City for a “clear view of what’s new in microcomputer software.”

Today, of course, Microsoft is busy updating Windows Vista and working on its successor, Windows 7.

There were rumours that today’s celebrations would be crashed by Apple, with speculation flying around the web that it would unveil a new Mac Mini and iMac today, however, the company has since squashed the rumours flat.

Windows has come a long way in the last 25 years, and there’s no denying the impact it’s had on the world. Were you there at the start? Do you remember Windows 1.0?

How to change the background image of Windows Media Player 12’s library view

Hi big boys n gals
So Windows 7 M3 is out there officially @ PDC’08, Today I was playing with its registry hive and found a registry tweak that can help to change the background of Windows Media Player 12’s library view.

WMP12

The registry tweak is so simple and can change 7 differenet backgrounds.

How to:

1) Run Registry Editor and navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences

2) Search for a DWORD value named LibraryBackgroundImage

3) Change it to 0 to 7 and see the effect. only 0-7 are valid data for this DWORD value.

Windows 7 theme for Windows Vista

Today I have found a theme, that is very similar to Windows 7 look and style for Windows Vista and decided to share with you. All credits goes to author.

So wait is over. Windows 7 Pre-Beta 6801 is belongs to us, but I’m still sticky with Windows Vista and created Windows 7 Theme for Windows Vista. Basically the theme is based on the Windows 7 that demonstrated at PDC’08
The theme packed with wallpaper with different resolutions.

Changes:

Windows 7 orb.
Fully-transparent Visual Style when maximized with black color of Title bar.
Left pane with blue n green gradient effect similar to Windows 7.
Windows 7 looks like Shell style.
Taskbar changed similar to Windows 7 Super bar.
Some resource changed.

How to apply:

Use Code Gazer’s Vista Glazz to patch Uxtheme
(VistaGlazz 1.1 works with Vista SP1. This version should be able to fix 32bit SP1 systems that have been patched with the old VistaGlazz.)
The theme is packed as executable, so just install it and choose your resolution to set the theme.
